Train Your Puppy Easily. He'll Grow Up to be a Wonderful Companion
A wise trainer once said" if you want to be successful training dogs, you must think like a dog, but you must teach the dog to think like a human". The same holds true with puppies. Puppies are baby dogs, but they differ from grown dogs just as children differ from grown ups.
Unlike grown dogs, their teaching periods must be kept brief, The trainer must always be aware of the puppy mentality and gear his or her efforts to capitalizing on the shorter attention span of the pup.
Before your puppy can be trained successfully, he needs consistency established in his daily routine to enhance his training ability and to have a healthy life. Set a schedule for his daily feeding, grooming , playing, and schooling activities.
Make sure your pup is fed at the same times everyday. Once you have found a brand of puppy food that agrees with him, stick to the same brand. While choosing a brand of pet food, look for one that has rich sources of protein like chicken, and meat protein.
Do not feed your puppy scraps from the table. This creates bad habits and can also be dangerous to a pup's digestive system
Grooming has multiple benefits for your pup - it keeps his skin and fur clean, and serves as a bonding experience for you and your pup. Brush your pup's coat everyday. Be gentle with your brushing, Take care not to hurt or irritate the skin. Look for and remove ticks, and stickers ,and debris from your pup's coat.
Establish a regular playtime to be conducted daily. Exercise helps puppies release energy so they can better concentrate when being trained. Exercise keeps them healthy.
Establishing a routine play time helps them learn the difference between playtime and serious time.
Now establish a daily training time for your pup. This will be his school time and it must be maintained as serious time. Don't set school time adjacent to play time.
Make sure your pup isn't hungry or thirsty during school time so that he's not distracted.
When you have established consistency in each of the puppy's activities, you've laid the foundation for his training.
Remember, consistency is the very essence of puppy training.
